I made these for dinner the other night. M&m loved them! I froze the leftovers and saved for a chocolate quick fix later!
[Dark] Chocolate Waffles
(Corn-free, dairy-free, egg-free, peanut-free, and soy-free)
PREP/COOK TIMES: 5/15 minYIELD: ~10 servingsINGREDIENTS:
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
3 tsp baking powder
½ tsp sea salt
½ cup evaporated cane juice (or turbinado sugar)
3 Tbsp unsweetened dark cocoa powder
1 cup coconut milk
½ cup applesauce
4 Tbsp (1/4 cup) olive oil
1 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
Optional extras: orange zest, chocolate chips, blanched almonds, crushed walnuts, shredded coconut, strawberries, blueberries, and many more!DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat waffle iron.
2. In a large mixing bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and cocoa.
3. Stir in milk, applesauce, and oil until mixture is smooth.
4. Spray preheated waffle iron with non-stick (soy-free) cooking spray.
5. Pour mix onto hot waffle iron. Cook until golden brown.NOTES:
